View from Main

View from Main depicts a view of the Salt Lake Valley from the beginning of Main Street in 1885.  This was eight years before the completion of the Salt Lake Temple.  The city at that time spanned from just north of North Temple to about 700 South.  South of this area consisted of farming and those who lived there were considered to be living in the country.
