Out of Captivity depicts the Arbella, the flag ship of the 1630 expedition of Puritans leaving England bound for North America. Among the Arbella passengers were the leaders of the Massachusetts Bay Company that upon their arrival became the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The piece was specifically painted to be the cover of the book Out of Captivity, written by Al’s dear friend Charles Allen.
