This is one of Al’s most recent painting. It depicts the St. George Temple at sunset in 1879, looking west from Washington fields with the Virgin River flood plain in the foreground. Al found the idea for the painting several years ago after a flood had gone through St. George. He saw the river in patchwork and had been waiting for enough time to complete a large painting of what he saw.
